Photography Mentorship & Clinics
Photography is more than understanding a camera. It is learning to see light, develop ideas, solve visual problems, and make intentional photographs.
As a photographer, multidisciplinary artist, and photography educator with a practice spanning digital and analog photography I practice and teach large-format film, landscape, portraiture, conceptual work, and alternative photographic processes. My background includes multiple degrees and years of teaching photography and visual arts, with an emphasis on both technical understanding and the development of individual creative vision.
Photography Clinics
I offer a rotating series of small-group, hands-on photography clinics throughout the Indianapolis area. Rather than traditional lecture-based classes, these clinics emphasize photographing, experimentation, demonstration, discussion, and individual feedback.
Clinic subjects change throughout the year and may include:
Portrait • Landscape • Macro • Product & Commercial • Studio Lighting • Night & Long Exposure • Film & Large Format • Alternative Processes • Fine Art & Conceptual Photography • Composition • Portfolio Development
Clinics may take place in the studio, on location, or in the field and are designed for photographers ranging from serious enthusiasts to working photographers interested in expanding their practice.
Individual Mentorship
I also offer private photography instruction and mentorship tailored to the individual photographer.
Mentorship can focus on technical development, lighting, photographic technique, portfolio review, project development, commercial photography, fine-art practice, conceptual development, or simply helping you determine where you want your photography to go next.
The objective isn’t to teach you to make photographs like mine. It’s to help you develop the knowledge, confidence, and critical understanding to make photographs that are distinctly your own.
